Lloyd Tan B.Sc. (Hons) Chiro.

Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chiropractic (International Medical University)

Lloyd believes chiropractic could be and should be more than just for those in pain – why stop caring for the body once the pain is gone?
With his siblings also serving in the healthcare industry, it was no coincidence that he found himself in the field of chiropractic. Lloyd graduated from International Medical University on a full scholarship. To stay at the top of his game, he attends international and local seminars annually.
Out of practice, he enjoys a game of futsal and would hang out over a live football match. When his schedule allows, he loves traveling to places he has never been to.
If you find him familiar, that’s because you most likely have heard of him from his previous work serving the Bandar Sri Damansara and Kota Kemuning communities.

What our patients say about us

To comply with the T&CM Act 2016 & Medicines (Advertisements & Sales) Act 1956 (which all chiropractors and chiropractic centres in Malaysia have to adhere to), we are not allowed to have testimonials or reviews on our chiropractic website. In compliance, we've also removed the link to our google profile that was located below previously.

Everybody is of course looking for the best chiropractor. It would be unthinkable to want the second-best chiropractor, and crazy to want the worst chiropractor. But with so many chiropractors in the area to choose from, how would you know who is the best? It’s a question without a simple answer.

The best chiropractor for someone may not be the best chiropractor for someone else. That’s why someone can tell everyone they know, “My chiropractor is the best” while another person goes around saying “That chiropractor is just OK”, and they are both talking about the same chiropractor.

If you are looking for a chiropractor, It is paramount that you find the best chiropractor for you. That would require a little research and some patience, but you’ll be glad you did it in the end. There are more than a boatload of chiropractors to choose from, and every one of them is going to approach a particular case slightly differently.

Some chiropractors are better at treating children. Some chiropractors are better at treating athletes. Some chiropractors are better at helping the geriatric population. Some chiropractors are better at helping office workers. There are so many types of personalities, conditions, and chiropractors, the list is virtually endless.

Here at Vertebros Chiropractic Kota Damansara, our goal is always to be the best chiropractor in Kota Damansara and Petaling Jaya, but we know that we are never going to be the best chiropractor for everyone. That is exactly why we encourage people to visit our website, read our reviews, and check out our social media. We want our future patients to familiarize themselves with who we are and how we can help them before they schedule their first appointment.

Hopefully, by the end of it, the people who are the best fit for us will know they found the right place, and we will have the opportunity to be the best chiropractor for them.

Finding The Best Chiropractor

Definitions of Chiropractic

National Center For Complementary and Integrative Health (USA)

Chiropractic is a licensed healthcare profession that emphasizes the body’s ability to heal itself. Treatment typically involves manual therapy, often including spinal manipulation. Other forms of treatment, such as exercise and nutritional counseling, may be used as well.

What do Chiropractors do?

Chiropractors approach patient care in a manner similar to that used in conventional medicine. They interview the patient, obtain a detailed health history, perform an examination, do tests, and develop a working diagnosis. They then develop a management plan, start treatment, and monitor the patient’s progress. The manual treatment methods used by chiropractors range from stretching and sustained pressure to specific joint manipulations, which are usually delivered by hand and involve a quick and gentle thrust. The purpose of the manipulations is to improve joint motion and function. Manipulations are most commonly done on the spine, but other parts of the body may also be treated in this way.

Chiropractic Education, Licensing, & Registration

To practice chiropractic in Malaysia, chiropractors must earn at least a Bachelor of Science in Chiropractic from an accredited university/college, and register with the Traditional & Complementary Medicine division of the Malaysian Ministry of Health.

Currently, International Medical University is the only higher education institution in Malaysia that offers the course.

To enroll in a Chiropractic program in Malaysia, which takes 4-5 years to complete, students must have completed a foundation in science program, or a related diploma/degree.

Institutions that award a chiropractic degree are accredited by the Council of Chiropractic Education. In Malaysia, our degrees are accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education Australasia

Chiropractic education includes classes in basic sciences, such as anatomy and physiology, and supervised clinical experience in which students learn skills such as spinal assessment, diagnosis and management, and various chiropractic adjustment techniques.

Some chiropractors complete postgraduate education in specialized fields, such as orthopedics or pediatrics.
